World Environment Day 2023 was celebrated at Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya today. The University prepares annual environmental awareness plans in various programmes undertaken as directed by the University Grants Commission. The programme was inaugurated by the Chancellor of Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya and His Holiness Guru Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu of Krishnaguru Sevashram by planting a tree. Earlier, the NSS team of the university organized a cleanliness campaign. The cleanliness campaign and tree planting programme was led by Assistant Professor Shri Bhargav Barman, Coordinator of NSS team of the University. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya organized an environmental awareness meeting at the University Auditorium from 11 AM. The meeting was officially inaugurated by the Chairperson of Krishnaguru Shiksha Parishad, Bhaktimatri Shri Kuntala Patowary Goswami aai. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, distinguished scientist Dr. Tarun Chandra Borah delivered a lecture on environment its degradation and sustained efforts on conservation. The event was conducted by Dr. Madhurjyya Mondit Baruah, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the University with Dr. Kamalakanta Dutta, Registrar of the University and Shri kalyani Deka, Principal of Krishnaguru Mahavidyalaya as the guests of honour.
